MONTHLY MEETING; : ■'. " ■ Tho monthly meeting of the Education Board was held on Friday after-' noon, when the following membors were present:—Messrs. W. Allan, A. H. Vile, J. G. W. The minutes were read and confirmed The financial statement showed thn' the Board's affairs were in. a . highly satisfactory condition, the ChairmaiV remarking that the positional present, was better than it had been for years past. The statement of finances, after providing for pay-sheet, shows:--Credit balance on building and genera i accounts, £1282 Is. id.; on technical manual and technical, tcachers salaries, and secondary account £1473 18s. 3d.; on deposit account.' £21 9s. 6d., making the total credi l balanco £2777 9s. , 4d.; against £2998 95. ; 10d. in the previous month.

The contract liabilities were shown at £1047 16s. Bd. The pay-sheet showed tho following.' disbursements':—Buildings, £806 3s. The Secrotary read a petition from fifty-eight residents in tho neighbourhood; of ithe; school; protflstiifg- against the - erection'of tho latrines'on a site close to street. .It was contended that',, the ..pasitjOfrCoti'these buildings would tend to create a nuisanco, and have a deteriorating effect on tho valuo of adjacent property.
