ALBANI CONCERT COMPANY. Tho . farewell concert of the Albani company at the Town Hall last evening attracted a largo downstairs audience that gave every indication of their appreciation of the efforts of the sterling quartet of artists Madame has introduced to the Dominion. Tho diva of a thousand triumphs was heard in "musio mildly sweet" for the most part—such, as th "Softly Sighs ".solo from "Dr Freisehutz ; (Weber), Handel's "Largo," a Russian.folk-song; "Ye Banks and Braes," "Crossing the Bar" (Willcby), and the inevitable "Good Bye" of Tosti, and in no song did' she ' show to more advantago than the old Scotch .air so dear to Caledonians, and popular with all. "Good Bye" was marred by a flight lapse of memory, that tho art of an. artist cleverly glossed over, and in no wise interfered with tho warmth of the farewell accorded the singer. Amongst the songs : of Miss Mildred Jones was a placidly-sweet, "serai-sacred, ■ song ontitled " Through the Day," composed by Miss Angela Medley, of Wellington," who .also played the accompaniment.' The song is distinctly superior to. many popular successes of the same order, and should have, a vogue if placed on the market. Miss Jones did the composer all credit, and the effective organ obligato, played by Mr. Theodore Flint, enhanced the number.' Mr. ; William Green, thougli handicapped by a relaxed throat, sang most... acceptably. Mr. Hadyn Wood, the violinist of. the company, displayed an attractive facility for boll-like harmnoies in Wieniawski s "Souvenir do Moscow." He was also, associated in a'duct with Miss' Myrtle Meggy, a skilful pianiste of much promise. Tho. concert was attended by Lady Plunkct and a party 'from Government House. : ' .
