Exodus of Bishops.

.NEW'. ZEALAND AND THE LAMBETH CONFERENCE.

Thoro will bo an exodus of Now Zealand Anglican Bishops early next year, and for sovcral mouths tho dioceses, with tho solo excpction of Chnstchnrch, will bo loft without then- head*. Tho Lambeth Conference only happens onco in ten years, and all the iVeiv Zealand, bishops, except tho Bishop of Christchurch (Dr. Julius), u'lio paid a visit, to England not many years ago, are expected to attend its sittings in July nest. Bishop \vallis will leave Wellington on Fobriury 19 for ..Sydney, wliero ho will tako passago for' England by .the " Orontoc." Ho expects to bo away from the Dominion for six or seven months. Several matters affecting this diocese will bo brought by him under notice of tho Church authorities at Home, but it is yet too early to speak of these in detail. Dr. Wallcs has received a copy of the following lettor, addressed by the Archbishop of Cantorlmry to the Bishops of tho Anglican communion who are cntitlod to attend tho Conference:—

Lambeth Palace, S.E., July 24, 1007. 1 Ivight .Reverend and Dear Brother,— 1 write to give you definite information with respect to the arrangements which have now been mado for the .Conference ot Jiishops of tho Anglican Communion, to be hold at Lambeth, if God will, in tho summer of 1008. i i? ' s l'™ Posed that the Conference seatl assemble l'or deliberation on Monday, Julv G, and shall sit till Saturday, July 11, when, in accordance with precedent, it will adjourn for n fortnight in order that the, Conference committees may have full opportunity Oi deliberation. Tho . Conference will reasiiemblo on July 27,' and will conclude its session on August 5. A detailed programme, notifying the special services to bo held before the opening day and other particulars, will bo circulated at an early date. I am able now to givo you information as to the subjects which will be discussed.

In conjunction with ilie Bishops who have been good enough to co-operate with mo in making the preliminary arrangements, I have given careful consideration to the many suggestion!! which havo reached me from my episcopal brethren in all parts of the world as to the subjects upon which it is thought desirable that wo should deliberate.
