(Before W. Lawrence Simpson, Esq., R.M.) Matthew Harney was fined 10s, or 24 hours' imprisonment, frr being drunk aud disorderly the prev.ous day. J Jeremiah Drummy, contractor, was proceeded against for not keeping a dan^er-lijht on an excavation in the main thoroughfare. Dismissed with a caution.
W. Smith, So'.way Hotel. Bendifo, applied for and wag granted leave to keep open his house beyond the author-Led hour on night of 31st instant. °
A like application by G. W. Goodjer, Cromwell, was granted for throe nights. G. W. Goodger was granted a temporary license for booth on racecourse. Charles Peake and Janice Lawrence, QuartzvMe, were granted an extension of houra on mjht of 27th.
Sarah Kelly was granted leave to keep open after hours on nights of 28th, 29th, and*3oih: Ueuben Isaacs was granted a hawker's license.
Saturday, December 25. (Before D. A. Jolly, Esq., Mayor.) Jimes Brown, for drunk and disorderly, was fined 10s, with the alternative of 48 hours' imprisonment ■ 'Hie same person was adjudged to pay 20s for bre,k ? ng the shop-w mdow of Mr Solomor. or surfcr an additional term of 48 hours.
