CROMWELL JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of members of Committee of the local Jockey Club was hold in the White Barb Hotel on Friday evening. There were present Messrs Preshaw (President), Starkey, Dawkins, M‘Kellar, Jolly, and Brown. Minutes of meetings hold on July I2th and August 23rd, were read and con tinned.

The Treasurer’s statement was brought up. it showed a balance in Bank of £47.

Accounts were presented and passed for payment as follows C. (Jolclougli, £2 lls ; Hallenstein and Co., £] ; 0. Jenour, Secretary’s salary to Ist July, £lO. _ The President intimated that the principal object of the meeting was to make arrangements for the forthcoming Annual Meeting-—to fix date, amount of prizes, Ac. Aftei some discussion, it was proposed by Mr Davkins, seconded by Mr MacKcllar, and carried—That the Annual Race Meeting take plate on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 28th and29th December next.

Proposed by Mr MacKcllar, seconded by Mr Starkey—That the Programme Committee be instructed to draw out a programme, and that in doing so they be advised to assume thesum to be given in prizes at not less than £250, and not exceeding £3OO. Carried.

Proposed by Mr Jolly, seconded by Mr MacKellar, and carried That Messrs Preshaw, Starkey, and Dawkins form a subcommittee to draw one programme, and that they report to i meeting to be held on the evening of 29th instant. Messrs J. Marsh, J. Stuart, and J. Dawkins were appoiited collectors, arid after the usual courtesy to the Chair the meeting adjourned.
