Public Notice is hereby given that, consequent upon the Resignation of Councillor WHETT SR for Bridge Ward, Nominations for the Office of Councillor for said Ward, will be received by the Town Clerk, at his Office, on or before THURSDAY, sth AUGUST instant, at Noon. I hereby give notice that I have this day marked out a Special Claim, of sixteen acres, situated in the Lowburn Flat, above Perriam’a freehold, under Section 2, Regulation IY. of the Goldfields Rules and Regulations. The reasons for asking the ground as a special claim are that the ground is certainly very deep and wet, the bottom being below the level of the Molyneux River, and that mining machinery and a largo quantity of timber will he required to prospect the ground, for the working of which a Limited Liability Company has been formed.
