A doctor and a preache • met on the street the other day and commenced bandying words about physical prowess. The preacher said one blow from his fist would show the doctor what " blue mass - ' was. The doctor replied that if the preacher wanted to learn a cheap method of " spreading the Gospel," he would advrise him to run agains; his fist. We have seldom to repor!; the arrival of such a large qmntty of drapery into this town in one week. W. Talboys, of the L mdon House, has just received his splendid stock of Winter Drapery, Roots, and Clothing, selected by himself with great care, from the largest stocks in Dunedin. In consequence of the arrival of hi 3 new stock, amounting to over £IBOO, he is obliged to extend his premises ; and has opened ( _ out a show-room for mil'tiery, underclothing, and _ ladies boots.
