A Plucky Bridegroom.

At Alexandra (Victoria) the local schoolmaster, a Mr, G'Hara, was, on a recent Monday, to have led to the altar a Miss Briggs, but at the appointed hour no appeared. After, the bridal ■party, wnose feelings may be better imagined than described, had waited some time, a messenger came into the town--sbip with the news that the Rev. Father 'Barret, who was to have officiated, had met with an accident. The bridegroom was equal to the occasion, and ordered conveyances at once to take a doctor and trie bridal partv to the scene of the accident, resolved that if Father Barret had sufficient life left the nuptial knot should be tied. Awav went the bridal party, and to their delight: they found, after driving ten miles, that the rev. Father was still alive, -and, although one arm was dislocated at the shoulder, he expressed his willingness, as soon as the doctor hud replaced ihe limb in its proper position, to go on with the 'ceremony there and then. 'What glad tidings this must have beim to the fond bridegroom and the fair bride. The local Ks-ai-lapius went to work, and with one steady pull at the arm and a few bandages, tin- patient was all rjght again. Then followed the •marriage ceremony, and although Flymen's altar had not those gorgeous'gay surround "injrs usual on stich occasions, yet the knot •was not (irmly tied. The prompt -and decisive'action of the bridgegrooui in rushing to secure, if possible under the "circumstances, the object of Iris affections, sand the wil.iuguess of the bride to meet 'the emergency of the cflrf 1 , seem to forbode -a happy future tor a nrvvly married couple.
