The long talked of tunnel beneath the bed of the Mersey, between Liverpool and the Cheshire coast, seems at length likely to be made. The sinking of the shaft on the Liverpool side is to be begun very shortly. It i 3 expected that from three to four years will be required for the completion of the undertaking.
