[The following was published as an Extra on Saturday;—] Saturday, 10.10 a.m. The Phoebe has arrived at Auckland from 'Sydney. Don Juan won the Melbourne Cup ; Dagworth, second ; Horatio, third. For the Derby, Lapidiat was first; Mountaineer, second ; Maid of Avenel, third. Don Juan also won the Royal Park Stakes and Essendon Stakes ; beating Horatio, Dagwork, and Fitz-Yattendon in each event.
