Friday, October 24. (Before W. Lawrence Simpson-, Esq., Warden.) applications. Extended Claims.—Ah. Chow and four others, and Ah How and four others' applications for five acres each in Moonlight creek were struck out, there being no appearance of applicants. Joseph M 'Cabe, one acre in Bailey's gully : granted.—William Burrows and two others, three acres in Burrows' gully : granted.—David Stewart and another, two acres in Bailey's gully : granted. Protection.— The Colleen Bawn company's application was postponed till 31st October.—Wm. Crook ston and others were granted 90 days' protection for claim at Doctor's flat. Tail Races.— Ah Chew and four others' application for tail-race at Moonlight creek was struck out, there being no appearance.—6. W. Goodger and another's application for tail-race at Adams' gully was also struck out, there being no appearance.—David Stewart and another's application for tail-race in Bailey's gully was granted. Water Races.—Ah. How and four others' application for four sluice-heads from Moonlight creek was struck out, there being no appearance.—G. W. Goodger and another's application at Adams' gully was struck out for similar reason.—The Carrick Water company's application for three sluice-heads was granted.—D. Stewart and another's application for four sluice-heads from dam in Pipeclay gully was adjourned till 31st inst., in order that applicants may attend and explain the termination. Tunnel— Alfred Short aud another's application in Adams' gully was granted. Dam.—O. M. Hedlund's application for dam at Slaughter-yard flat was refused. Residence Areas.— The following areas of one acre each were granted :—Ah Leong and Ah Tie at Nevis flat; and Charles Jones at Welshtown, Bendigo.
