♦ [from our own correspondent.] DUNEDIN. Tuesday, 9 a.m. It is expected that the shares allotted in the National Insurance Co. will be made public this week. It is officially notified by the Provincial Secretary that Mr Janies Adam, of Tokomairiro, has been appointed Emigration Agent in Britain for the Province. Resolutions affirming the desirability of establishing a fourth district school in Dunedin were passed at a public meeting on Friday night. Otago representatives at the Inter-colonial rifle match in Melbourne are Goldie, Taylor, Dobbie, and Reid. The Postmaster-General advertises for tenders for a steam service to connect the East and West Coasts of the Middle Island. The nomination for the Auckland Superintendency took place on Friday. Show of hands:—Williamson, 389 ; Dargaville, 143; Lusk, 18. The poll will take place on the 6th November.
