CARRICK WATER COMPANY.
An adjourned meeting of shareholders In the Carrick Range Water Supply Company was held in the Town-hall yesterday evening. The business was chiefly to consider the Auditors' Report. One of the Auditors was in attendance. After considerable discussion, it was agreed to allow the matter to stand over till Monday, Ist proximo,—the auditors, Mr Smythies, and Mr MacKellar in the meantime to examine and report upon the accounts. It was then resolved, on the motion of Mr Hazlett, seconded by Mr Marsh, to appoint Mr James Taylor, (the present Chairman of Directors,) an inspecting Director, having general supervision of all the works of the Company, and having power, in conjunction with the working manager, of letting portions of the race by tender or piecework, without previously calling meetings of the Directors for that purpose, a limit being put to the amount which they should so let; and having definite instructions to report upon the progress of the works to each monthly meeting of Directors. Several other matters were considered, and expressions of opinion made by the shareholders for the guidance of the Directors at their monthly meetings. The shareholders appeared to be quite satisfied that no further delay would be met with in negotiating the loan from the Gc vcriu^OEt.
