[fkom our own corkesposdexr] DUNEDIN. ] In the Provincial Council on Friday, Mr MacKellar's motion, requesting sum of money to be placed on Estimates for forming a new Cardrona track, was lost on the voices. i Mr MacKellar's resolution that the Toko-mairiro-Tuapeka railway be extended to Roxburgh, Alexandra, Clyde, and Cromwell was carried; extension to be proceeded with so that that portion between Tuapeka and Roxburgh be constructed concurrently with the progress of present contracts between Tokomairiro and Tuapeka. The race for Championship of New Zealand on Saturday between Fox and Drake, resulted in', a victory for the former. \ The Dunedin Masonic Kail has been sold by mortgagees. The Council will probably be prorogued to--1 morrow.
