In the " Estimate of Requirements for School Bti Mines''for the current year, furnished to the Government by Inspector Hislop, fortylive cases of "grea'cst. urgency" are specified. For Cromwell (No. 15), a new school, to be built of stone, at a probable cost of £4OO, is recommended; and for liannockhurn (No. -11), it U suggested that a wood residence should be built for the schoolmaster—the probable cost being set down at £250. These requirements will he brought under the notice of the Provincial Council about to be elected, and it is to be hoped will receive favourable consideration when the session coses on.
