A DENIAL.
j To t!ut Editor of the Thom well Argus. ! Sir, —In your issue of ‘2sth March, you make some remarks respecting the crushing of 183 tons of stone for the Colleen Bawn Company at j Logan’s Battery, to the effect that the machine | was not in any way protected during the intervals of. working, and that there had been gross negligence in some, quarter ; and more than hint that it was from these two causes the anticipated yield of gold was not obtained. ' As manager of Bogan's Battery, I beg to give these insinuations an unqualified denial, and to state that' the Company received the whole o' the gold which was in the stone. The stuff was front two places, and mixed in quality, some o it being very poor. The batter/ was never left unprotected at any time, and there has not bee o the slightest indievion of tampering with the boxes or ripples. In a word, I indignantly throw hack the insinuations upon the source from which you obtained thorn.—l am, &c., Edward Riog. i
