Last week we reprinted from a Tnsmanian paper an account of a fight between two i young men, with a fatal issue. A Lannceston | telegram, dated Jan. 21. says : "The Criminal | Court to-day was occupied with the trial of Seaton ! Williams (the surviving principal in the late fatal fight) for manslaughter, and of Ch ; Field and Charles Watson as seconds ii affair. Messrs Miller, Giblin, and Rocher, dressed the jury for the defenec, a< d the J' then summed-up. He said that if the jurywert of opinion that the deceased's death was caused by the fight, they must re! urn a verdict of manslaughter. The jurv then retired, hut after hein? absent for more than an hour, returned into Court and intimated that they could not auree. The Judge requested them to retire agnin. The jury returned into Court after two hours more"! deliberation, with a verdict of ' not guilty,' »d ( ' the prisoners were discharged."
