A little boy, aged six, the son of a settler named Garrick, during the absence of his parents, picked up a fowling-piece of his father's ; and, not knowing it was loaded, put a cap on it, and in play tired at his little sister, aged two and a half years. The whole charge was received by the poor little child, and she died almost immediately. The San Francisco mail is not yet telegraphed. Wellington telegrams state that the Opposition confidently anticipate a majority on Mr Stafford's motion of want of confidence.
