BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. u is like a race, where some succeed fl'bile others are beginning ; is luck in some, in others speed, That gives an early winning. . a if you chance to fall behind, jfe'er slacken your endeavour ; ut keep this wholesome truth in miad, it 'lis better late than never !" ud if you keep ahead, well, Hgat never trip your neighbour : 'j 3 noble when you can excel 3y honest, patient labour ; ut if you are.outstripped at first, Press on as bold as ever ; eme»ber, though you are surpassed, ii 'Tis better late than never !" e'er labour for an idle boast, Or victory o'er another ; ut while you strive your uttermost, Deal fairly with a brother. fhate'er your station, do your best, And hold your purpose ever ; n d if you fail to do the rest, ii "fis better late than never !" hoose well the path in which yoft run ; Succeed by noble daring ; hen, though the last, when once 'tis won, Your crown is worth the wearing. hen never fret if left behind, Kor slacken your endeavour ; jut ever keep this truth in mind, " 'lis better late than never !"
