This was a very good race, although everyone considered it a gift to Musician, or a horse owned hy Mr Doyle, of Deep Stream.— The Hack Race, for which sis started, was ultimately won hy Musician. Pillbox took 11...I 1 ...- first heat,—Musician and Roderick being hold back for the second, in which a most exciting race took place between them, Musician winning by half a lieal. in the third heat Musician disposed of Pillbox as he thought lit. Logan's Fire-eater, which ran a dead heat with Musician, but the owner of the latter refused to all ow him again to run. There were several minor races, which were all well contested.
