According to all appearances, onr fellow-countrymen at home never entered upon the festivities of ChristI mas in a more loyal spirit than they did on ! the 25th of December last; and the opponents of the monarchy have met with rough usage at more than one large town in which ( they attempted to preach republican, doc- [ trines.”
