I The Provincial Government have again r ited tenders for the erection of a Court-house Mi Cromwell. Whether they really intend to proceed with the building, or whether the reeved invitation to tender is only meant as a »s>, we do not presume to say. Certain it is [hat a new Court-house is urgently required, |SI that its erection has alrealy been long Sough delayed. The business in connection gfth the Warden's office here is dailv inereasin-r, ■d it is a matter of surprise that the Receiver, ■blithe miserably inadequate accommodation MJordedhythe present building, has hitherto |jen enabled to preserve the important doougnts entrusted to his care from inextricable Bifusion or even absolute loss. We trust the gwn Council will abstain from further intergence with the question of the most suitable ge for the new Court-house : the recommendation made by that body on a previous occasion Ben tenders were called for, afforded the Gogrnmenta plausible pretext for delaying the »gress of the building, and the same Result Buld probably follow any similar action at this Pficture. ■The ten-hour system Ims been adopted ■the Star of the East Company's claim. Mr »nuel Wilhams has succeeded Mr Tippett as guergrouud manager.
