—o— A sad incident occurred at Stebenville I I Comity (New York) Infirmary, a few days ' ago, resulting in a horrible death, the bury- : \ I iag of a small lad named Murphy, aged live j r years, a reel-footed child, who wa3 deserted • by his mother to cloak her shame. It ap-' ( pears that two other pauper children, named j 1 I Philip Sheridan and Andy Stuart dug a large ! | ' hole in the orchard adjoining the infirmary, j ( i After effecting this part of the diabolical act, j 1 1 the two little fiends, whose ages are respec-, ■ ! tively five and ten years, repaired to the in. j I firmary grounds and caught the reel-footed j. I boy, and carried him to his living grave, i j ; Shrieking, yet without power of being heard, |. , | the little victim was caught by the young exc- | cutioners and forced into the hole. Holding .: him down, they shovelled in the earth and : stones upon his writhing body, stilling his ' . j cries as best they could, until the poor de- . | formed body ceased to struggle and the spirit j L j took its flight to Him who gave it. The two T \ young murderers went back to the house; j | without informing any one of the deed, and ■ , ! the buried boy's absence was first noticed by \ j jMr Porter, the Superintendent, about one j _ | o'clock. Upon making inquiries a little black | , I boy informed him that Andy Stuart and , Philip Sheridan had buried Limpy down in 1 1 the hollow. On troinac to the spot Mr Porter found the newly-made grave, and below the s I surface the lifeless form of Limpy. The little j murderers have been Rent to the Reformatory, ; j This is one of the saddest incidents we have j.
