The unfortunate Jeceased, with Iris mate, Henry Karris, was standing on the brink of tlie “ face,"’ when the ground gave way and carried the men down a distance of forty feet to tlio-bottom of the claim. White was instantly killed, and bis body was not iej covered until half-au-honr afterwards. Ennis had. a rib broken, and was otherwise- severely bruised. The deceased aat a rative-ot, (Jounty Msath, Ireland, uni ka.t been on Swi'.ad.-s fo; I five '.-ears.
