The Coming Political Struggle.

Tho General Assembly has been summoned to meet, for tho " despatch of btuiae.l3," on Thursday, tho 22nd of June. It was anticipated that the Ministry, weakens.], as it is "y the appointment of the lion. Dr. Featherston, us AgentGeneral, and tiie absence of tho lion. Julius Vo<{ct, would Have procrastinated to a later date, it m se'.iug with an Opposition which promises to be fierce and strong. Emboldened by the infornlation received by the last m til of the success of th-dir chief in negotiating in England the first portion of the £4,000,000 loan, with a politic adroitness for which we should scarcely have given them credit, they have seized the opportunity of confronting those who, in opposing the scheme, argued that the loan would not be floated, and of upbraiding tliem with having given a factious opposition to a masterly and statesmanlike policy; while the suppdrt of the lukewarm representatives of impoverished Provinces is .secured by tho promise that as the mo.iey 'u to be g)t, it will be to them "all profit and no loss." In this they have acted "cannily," and deserve the credit of a bo'ld stroke. They may thus secure a brief renewal of their lease of office ; but if we can time the pulse of public opinion, and estimate aright the mettle of the Southern represntatives, it will be brief indeed.
