A TRUE TALE. Some months ago, in Melbourne, when the noonday sun was at its height, and the main thoroughfare of the city, Bourke-street, thronged with its usual crowd of sightseers, business people, and members of the “ upper ten doing the block,” no little sensation was created by the appearance of a more than ordinarily showily dressed lady, chignoned and panniered in the latest fashion, who threaded the busy and wondering crowd, and disappeared through the portals of a well-known photographer’s doorway not a hundred miles from the gateway of the Theatre Royal.
