A noteworthy omission (says tho DailyTime* of Friday bat) took place in tho Govern-ment-telegraphic summary of the English new* received by tho Suee mail, no mention beings made- of the 'winners of the Derby and Oaks. From the Argun we leatn that tho former raceresulted aa follows Lord Falmouth’s Kingcraft, I r Mr Wr W. S. Crawford’s Palmerston* 2 ; Mr Pedley's Masquer, 3; Mr Merry’s Macgregor, 4. Fifteen started. It will thus be seen that the miming in the Two Thousand Guineas was reversed, aa Kingcraft, who-started favourite in that race, came in third; while Macgrogor, thewinner ot tho Two Thousand, started a hot favourite for the Derby and came in fourth. It will also bo observed that tho number who started this year was unusually amalL For tho Oaks, seven started, and the race resulted as i —Mr G. Jones’s Gamos, 1 j Mr Bbino, 2 ; Mr Reeves’s Pate, 3. The is not given for either moo.
