On Friday evening a special meeting of the Town Council was convened by the M ayor, in accordance with a requisition signed by three Councillors, with the object of determining tho validity of two new claims which had been inserted in the list of ratepayers for Bridge Ward. An exceedingly animated debate took place, and the meeting ended in smoke.
