West Queen-sfcreat, Auckland (says tlie Morning Advertiser of January 4), was the scene of a decided row yesterday between an Amazonian wife and a patient, long-suffering husband. The wife was evidently born to command, and the husband to obey. She hit out in true scientific style, and he resignedly took punishment. Heads were thrust out of doors and windows, and an admiring crowd soon assembled. At length the husband travelled—the crowd cheered -the Amazonian yelled, and with her back hair all down, gave determined chase. The last soeu of her was the fluttering of her rather dusty garments as she turned the corner into Albert-street. The sentence of the man Smyth, who was lately convicted of the murder of his wife, at Lyttelton, and sentenced to death, has been commuted to pon&l servitude for life.
