A subcommittee was appointed to carry out several necessary improvements and repairs connected with the school-house and play-ground. A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the proceedings to a close. It is expected that a large proportion of the timber required for the reefs will in future be supplied from this source. A large boat, to be employed in the timber trade, was recently conveyed overland from the Wanaka to the Hawea Lake, Shearing commenced at the Wanaka Station on Wednesday last, but owing to tho scarcity of hands tho work was not being got oiy with very expeditiously.
