From the Timur a Herald wo learn that an accident of a very distressing nature occurred lately, whereby a child, lifteen months old, of Mr thigh Sutherland, a farmer residing near Pleasant Point, lost its life. The mother of the child, it appears, had been scalding out a churn, an I had I emptied the water into an ordinary sized i American tub, which she left cm the floor ! while she had occasion to go outside for a i moment. When she. njviimrd she found i that the child had fallen into the tub in a j sitting posture, and was severely scalded j from above the knees to the chest. The ' child had been playing with an old skirt of a | dress, which it had been dragging about ; the. floor, and in walking backwards had evidently fallen into the tub. It suilered j great 1* through the night and died tlm 1 following day.
