CLEARING SALE AT PUERUA. Messrs Donald Beid and Company, Limited, report having held a very successful clearing sale at Mr Arch. Morton's, I'uerua, on Tuesday, 18th inst. There was a good attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and the following are some of the prices:—Mare, 6yrs, £3B; gelding, £.37 10s; mare, £2B; cows, from £6 10a to £9 17s 6d; heifers, from £5 2s 6d to £7 12s 6d; yearling heifers, £4 10s; calves, los: bull, £1.3; pigs, 36s 6d. Implements and sundries brought full market value.

BURNSIDE STOCK SALES. Wednesday, November 19. Fat Cattle.—There was*a fair yarding, 182 being yarded, consisting of several pens of good quality cattle. The sale opened about the same as last week, but as it progressed prices improved from 5s to 10s per head. Prime . heavy bullocks, £l4 to £l(i ss; extra, to £22; medium, £l2 5s to £l3 10s; light, £9 as to £lO ],"is; prime heifers and cops, £ll to £l2 10s; niedium, £9 to £10; light and unfinished, £7 to £B. Pat Sheep—There was a medium yarding, there being 2335 penned. Owing to Knvcral butchers buying outside prices were easier than last week by Is 6d;per bead, and towards the close were quite 2s pertbead down. Shorn .wethers, heavy to 25b 9d. good from 20b'6d to 22s 9d; woolly wethers, heavy from 30s to

33b 6d, good from 26s to 29s 6d; woolly cwos, heavy from 26s to 30s. Fat Lambs.—There was a fair yarding, "119 boihg penned. The prices at the opening of the sale were slightly firmer than those ruling last week, but at the eloso of the sale were on a par with last week's rates. Best lambs, to 19b 3d.; good lambs, from 16s 6d to 18s. Pigs.—There was a small yarding, there being 40 fat pigs and 70 stores yarded. Store pigs made up to 48s, and generally prices wero on a par with last week's. Competition for porkers and baconers was extremely keen.
