- fkOM otm own . The town is about dead so far as news' is concerned, there being only the "pip - 1 turos" and a visit by the Elwood Trio to brighten up thiugs a little. Building is brisk; in fact, more so at present than lias been the case for some considerable time past. Although the interest upon strike matters in the north would appear to be almost lost, yet this goes by appearance only, as every scrap of news is quietly but eagerly devoured, and treated afterwards to a strict analysis. Thpn one hears the opinions expressed, together with the .almost general one, that only one side of the question, with a small share of the other, is given to the reading public. Yet those who are occasionally loud in denouncing the "capitalist press" are to bo found impatiently awaiting the next issue of it, and should the question be asked, "What about the Worker?" the answer readily comes out, "Oh, that paper is as bad the other way." Meantime work goes steadily on, and for this time of the year business in general has had a much better run than in the corresponding months of previous years. week should see some joyous smiles and happy laughter, there being a couple of marriages for Wednesday.
