Original Poetry.

NATURE'S BEAUTY. To those with good contented hearts, The beauty of God's earth imparts A sweet and soothing charm ; The pearly drops of morning dew, The sunshine's genial golden hue, The glorious dome of heavenly blue, Bespeak a gracious calm.

Each little wayside flower That -opens to the sun its dower Of God-created "worth, Is eloquent in mute appeal, And makes us own the love we feel', And prompts the thanks as low we kneel. For all the joys of earth.

0, dead the heart that won't rejoice ! And deaf the ear that hears no voice! When Nature sings her praise ; The green-clad woods and fields proclaim, And titter but one glorious name ; The birds take up the glad refrain, And heavenward, tune their lays ! Catlins River. - J. D. M.
