FAREWELL TO SPRING.

(By VV. A. P., Warepa.) How seasons come and seasons go. Old Winter's gone with frost and snow ; Bright Spring has brought her buds and flowers ; Now Summer comes with golden hours. We hailed thee, Spring, with great de- • light, For Winter gave us sucli a fright. Oh Spring, thou'rt like a fairy Queen ! Thy touch makes nature fresh and green, And ere thou takest thy long farewell We thank thee for thy fairy spell. Meet emblem of our youthful days, We give to thee our sweetest lays. What changes now on earth we see Since first -with, joy we hailed thee 5 Nature is clad in robes so gay, The birds sing all the live-long clay. Then should our path at times be drear, Without one ray of hope to cheer, We'll mind that Winter may not last, That Spring will come when Winter's past.
