The Napier Borough Council have accepted a tender for filling up twentythree swamp sections, cost, L 12,699. The Education Board " enjoins teachers to have recourse to corporal punishment sparingly and with due .deliberation, and authorises it to be inflicted only by the head masters andacting head masters of schools. The Brisbane Oup was won by Premier, with Sydney second, and Olivia third.. Premier won easily'in 3min. 37sec. The Rev. 0. W.
