WAIPAHI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Waipahi School Committee was held • at Hewitt's hotel, Waipahi, on Saturday evening. All the members were present. Mr W. H. S. Roberts was called to the chair. The hon. Secretary, Mr Clarke, read a letter from the Secretary to the Education Board, stating that the Board agreed to permit tho Committee to build a school if they found tho funds, which would be repaid when the Board had sufficient money in hand. That negotiations had been entered into with the Public Works Department to secure the site asked for on the railway reserve. That the glebe selected by the Committee was required for a township, so could not be granted, and requested the Committee to select another glebe. It was resolved that Mr Clarke reply to the Education Board, agreeing to^build the school on the terms offered by*the Board, and to request the Secretary to send the plans nnd specifications so that tenders may be at once called for building the school. It was resolved that the Committee meet on Monday afternoon and inspect the different reserves, with a view to select another glebe. The meeting then adjourned.
