77Mr A. MERCER reports for the week ending June 26, as follows :—
' Retail prices only:— Fresh butter in Jib and lib "prints, ls 6d to Is Sd pei* lb; fresh butter in lumps, Vis 4d per lb ; powdered and salt butter ls 2d to 1 s 4d. Fresh butter is now very scarce, and likely to be more so this winter,— some of the butter is 7very iuferior. Salt butter iii. kegs 10d to lid, and a good deal coming iv. Cheese, best quality, SdtolOdper lb; side and rolled bacon, lOd ; Colonial hams, ls per lb ; English hams, ls 2d to ls4d ; English cheese, ls 4d— no demand now fwsrffi her. Eggs appears to be more plentiful, C-^, tees are on. the downfall, and retailing at 3-jp'er dozen.

TMr Henry Dktver (on behalf of the 3STew •7 Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) A- reports for the week ending June 26th : — '•' ' The following fat atock came forward at the z - Yards to-day :— lB2 head cattle, 1314 sheep. , Fat Cattle. — These yarded consisted principally of good to prime quality. All were sold, but ; the prices realised showed no improvement on v last quotations. Best pens of bullocks brought ? from LlO to Ll3, two or three very prime lots v bringing up to 1-15 ; cows, L 6 103 to LlO — or equal to 25s to 27s per lOOlbs for prime quality. Pat Sheep.— Of the number forward only about half were of prime quality, the balance 7 being little better than stores, and in consequence of the short supply prices again advanced at least 2s. Cross-breds brought from 14s 7 to 18s 6d, and a very, prime lot up to2ls6d— or equal to 3|d to 4d per lb. *•■ Store Stock. — This description of stock is with- -_• out any important change. Wool.— Latest telegrams from Eondon advise ■A- the wool sales progressing firmly at a further advance of |d to Id per lb. No business doiug in this r market, the weather preventing fell mongers drying up any lots for sale. y.-y Sheepskins. — We had a small supply at our 4' weekly auction on Monday last, our catalogue 7 comprising only about 1000 skins, which caused 4 brisk competition and a considerable advance in ? prices. We sold butchers' cross-breds from 3s 4 9d to 4s 9d j merinoes, 2s 3d to 3s 8d ; dry skins 7" participating in the advance to the extent of 3d to 4d per skin. F Tallow.— We had several parcel.* to offer, i which brought a slight advance on former rates, I good mixed bringing 27s to 28s 6d ; dark inferior, l 23s to 255; rough fat, 21s 8d to 22s 6d. A . Grain.— Wheat of superior quality is in fair p? demand, but secondary lots are unsaleable, pSTrime milling, 4s 4d to 4s 6d ; fair to good, 4s to K^^jfinferior, 3s 9d ; fowls' wheat 3s. Oats Kli^v^ajciv-ihcett. 1 Sales are made at 3s 9d to 3s gpll&;fdi?feed, and 4s for milling.
