Mr George Skene lodged objections to a license being granted to Nicholas Moro, of section 16, Block VI , Chattori district easr, of and adjoining his present site, on'the ground that he had purchased his lease for brick making, •one brick yard being sufficient to supply the demand of the district. Mr J. B. Bradshaw appeared in support of Mr Moro's application. — The question was •postponed for a month. Ranger Hughan imported on the following applications to purchase and lease under section 54 of the Act of 1872 :— -To purchase — John Templeton, -section 14, block X., Waikaka district. To lease — Edward Perkins, section 28, block 11., Waikaka; Benjamin Johnston, section 29, block 11., Waikaka ; •James M'Phail, section 5, block 11., Waikaka ; Thomas Ross, section 25, "block-IL," Waikaka, and Andrew Mason, --section 12, block 11., Waikaka. — Approved. - The Chairman of the Tuapeka County Council requested that a small portion •:of land at the south-west corner ot section 17, block XVII., Crookston district, be reserved for quarrying purposes. - — The request was temporarily granted. Mr J. C. Chappie wrote stating his willingness to accept the office of Ranker for the Spottis Hundred for the present year.-— Appointment agreed io. Mr H. Driver, for Mr "A. D. CameTon, applied to purchase small portion of rural lands comprising 15 acres and •5 acres approximately, adjoining section 4, block IV., Glenkenich, to complete his property. — Referred to the Hanger for report. Mr G. F.B. Poynter applied for land order under the Forest Trees Encouragement Acts, 1871-72, for having planted trees six acres of section 39, block XL, Glenkenich district. — The Board Tesolved that the Governor be recommended to appoint Thomas Hnghan as •an officer io certify as to fulfilment of conditions under Tree Planting Encouragement Act, 1871-72, Regulation. The following applications to extjhange agricultural for deferred payment leases were approved : — Maurice Spillane, section 48, block IV., Tuapeka East ; Arthur O'Neill, section 4, block XIII., Tuapeka East; James Rae, section 47, block IV., Crookston.
