Messrs Maclean Dkotheks report :— On Friday, 28th ultimo, weheldasaleatßa!clutha, which was largely attended. We submitted 200 head mixed cattle, including a mixed lot on account of Mi- John Anderson, jun. Bullocks fetched i' 4 10s to 16 IOs; cows, £4 to £5 ss; calves aud yearlings, 'Si)a to 60s. At the same timo we sold, on account of Messis M'Lennan, Lamond, Moir, and John Anderson, jun., 1(300 sheep, as under : — Full-mouthed merino ewes, 3s Gd; do wetbers (good), 4s t)d to 5s Oil ; merino lambs, at 5s Gd ; cross-bred ewes, full-mouth, Gs Gd to 7s 9d ; do lambs, os 3d to Gs. Messrs "Wwgut, SxEPnEisSON*, and Co. report for the week ending April 3, as follows :— Grain. — Wheat is in good demand, and sales of good milling are being made afc 4s 6d per bushel ; superior, 4s 8d to 4s 9d; oats scarce, aud wanted for immediate delivery, at 3s Gd for prime milling, and 3s 4d to 3s 5d for feed; barley, little offering, saleable at from 4s Gd to ss. Mr A. Mercer rpports for the week ending April 3, as follows :— Retail Prices only. — Fi-esh Butter, in and lib prints, Is to Is 2d per lb; fiesh butter, in lumps, ls ; powdered and salt butter, Is. Fresh butter still continues pR-nt. ful, and the market is well supplied ; salt butter now and prime is scarce, and asked after at fld to lOd per lb. Cheese, best quality, lCd to Is ; new cheese, Sd to 10d. Side and rolled bacon, Hd to lOd ; Colonial hams, lld tois; English hums, Is 4d per lb, no demand, the same may be suid of English cheese. Eggs are very scarce this week, and as high as 2s Gd per dozen.
