[from our own correspondent.] , ■ Harvesting operations have commenced upon a few of the farms here. The greater part of the crops are looking first-class, and should good weather continue till i they are cut and stacked, the settlers will have uothing to complain of. The turnip crop, is also very good. Those settlers who have not yet got a ring-fence round their deferred payment sections are pushing hard to have this done by the Ist of June) as their three years'' lease will then have expired. A great quantity of fencing timber is ;being: carted from the Mataura bridge this summer. , , '„.<.;.: For the first time in Otaria, the Rev. , Mr Connor will dispense the Sacrament of the Lard's Supper in the Waipahi schoolhouse on Sunday, March 3, at three o'clock p.m. .... The Returning Officer then declared. Messrs Scott, Gardiner, Templeton, Catto, Tolriiie,. arid Andrews duly, v> elected.
