The wonderful success attending our competition with the Dunedin Houses has been most signal, as we were suro it would be, if carried out in a straightforward manner, in act as well as advertisement. The greater our trade grows the lower will be the prices charged ; it is, therefore, entirely in the people's hands the control of prices. Let unity predominate, and prices will fall. The large buyer in the market has the advantage. Our object is not to try and get the highest price we can for our Goods, but rather to sell at as low a profit as will pay. By adhering to this principle we are destined to meet with a consequent gratification with a country equal in fertility to any on the surface of this Globe, To meet the convenience of outlying districts, our Traveller, Mr Ray Lonargan, will call on the residents with Samples of our entire Stock, and deliver Goods at the same rates as charged in the town of Balclutha. T^ORWARDING AGENCY, Mr R. Cramond, having constructed a Siding at the Terminus of the Railway at Balclutha, and the same bting now open for traffic, begs to call the attention ot Merchants, Settlers, and the Public generally, to the advantages which accrue by means of his Agency. In accordance with arrangements made with the Traffic Manager, all Goods sent from or to the Terminus will only be j charged at Stirling rates. All Goods and Parctls addressed to the care of Mr C. will be carefully looked after, and despatched or received as the case may be,, and delivered to the con signees, either, by himself, in Balclutha, or ; by his* agents, in Dunedin or elsewhere. Those despatching or ordering goods to I or from Balclutha should therefore instruct .■ that all such be addressed to the care of "R.
