PORT MOLYNEUX AND CATLINS MAILS.
.'..-.: TO THE KDITOR. • Sir,— A. petition was placed before me "just -now to which my signature was requested. Tt had reference to an alteration of the mail rutming between Port Molyneux and Balclufha, and vice versa. \NOw, Sir, the proposed arrangement is in "my OTOTJion faulty, "inasmuch as that the -great body of flic ratepayers will derive no "benefit. Instead . of the mail leaving Port Molyneux with the outward mail at v 8 a.m. (after delivering the inward one 'the previous afternoon), as proposed, I would suggest that it should not leave till Tioon, so as to catch the afternoon train , thereby conferring the same benefits on Ahuriri and Catlins as would be cnioyed by the town and immediate neigiibour"bood of Port Molyneux. The mailman •could go right through, and do 0,11 the 'work, and the postmaster at Port Mol.yTieux would not be inconvenienced under these circumstances. I could not sign it, and wonld request ;you to give publicity to my ideas. Yours, obediently, Alfred Jowitt. Port Molyneux, Jan. 29.
