December 5, 1877. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., R.M.) W. T. Smith v. John Mim/er, —Charge of assault, to which defendant pleaded provocation. After hearing complainant's statement, his Worship held that defendant Wcis justified even in knocking plaintifl' down after the language used to him, and accordingly dismissed the case. J. G. Smith v. Angus Ross. —Claim of £13 13s, for medical attendance. Mr Taylor for plaintiff. Judgment by default for the amount claimed, costs of Court £2 1 Os, and professional fee £1 is ; immediate execution to issue. Cheeseman and Another v. Jones. — ISTo appearance ; case struck out. Grigor, Stewart, & Go. v. M'N'aughtok.—Claim, £3 10s Id. Mr Henderson for plaintiff. Judgment for amount by confession, with costs of Court 6s, and professional fee 10s (id. A slaughtering iiesnse was granted to John Wright, Kaihiku. Arthur Wyber and Co. applied for a slaughtering license at Kaitangata. Application dismissed, as a license cannot be granted to a company. « 1
