Lord Gowrie, imported from Victoria, by Matchless, dam, Blossom, by Reformer: granddam, Kate, bred by — Rumly, Esq., Tasmania, by Ajax (imported). Reformer gained the Highland Society's first prize at Perth, in 1 852, as a yearling; in 1856 at Melbourne, the Port Philip Farmers' Society's first prize, beating Mr J. Wilson's Clyde, and four other imported sires ; in 1857, at Melbourne, the Port Philip Farmers' Society's first prize, beating Clyde, and 25 others ; at the same meeting won the Champion Cup, value L3O, as the most perfect animal exhibited. He has also taken a number of local prizes, and his stock have been successful as prize-takers. As a two-year old, Lord Gowrie gained first prize at the Mornington Farmers' Society Show, Berwick ; as a three-year old, first prize at Tokomairiro ; and his dam, Blossom, gained first prize as a yearling, at Melbourne, in 1861, beating Princess Maud the Third, and eight others ; in 1862, was second to Highland Mary, -.beating seven others.
