MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
<?» The election of Councillors in the various Municipalities took place on Wednesday. BALCLDTHA. The weather was delightful, and the contest in each Ward more than usually lively ancl good-natured. The following were the results : — SOUTH WARD. John Macdonald 52 William Stewart 36 EAST WARD. F. S. Canning 19 John Paterson ... ... 15 NORTH WARD. Robert Hogg 47 Alexander Bain ... ... 23 The Returning Officer, Mr M'Neil, declared Messrs Macdonald, Canning, and Hogg duly elected. The various candidates then addressed the electors, and the proceedings terminated.
