SOUTH MOLYNEUX ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the South Molyneux Road Board was held in the Boai'd's office on Thursday, 24th March. There were present : Messrs Henderson (chairman), Jowitt, Christie, Brugh, Lee, Braid, Sutherland, Paterson, Melville, and Steven. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read fi-om the Secretary to the Treasury, Wellington (in answer to a letter from the Board), stating that no subsidy is payable for the September quarter of 1876, because no grant for that period was made by Parliament. A letter was read from the Chairman of the Clutha Road Board, inviting the Chairman and members of the Board to a conference of the several Road Boards in the County to be held at Warepa on Saturday, April 7. It was resolved that the Chairman and so many members of the Board as could find it convenient should attend the conference. A letter was read from Henry Latimore, Alvuriri sub-division, making application for improvements on the road between his property and Mr M'Lean's. It was resolved that Messrs Smith and M'lntosh be appointed a committee to report on Mr Latimore's application at next meeting. In reply to a letter . from J. H. Jen- , kinson, .calling the Board's attention to the dangeixms state of the road, leading from the. Puerua Bridge to the river side 1 and up the river bank, the Clerk was instructed to inform Mr Jenkinson that the , work pointed out by him would. =be taken i ■ into consideration when the sub-division had funds available for that purpose. The collector presented his report, showing that the .-rates collected amounted to £430 18s Id j also a list of those who have neglected to pay their, rates. — Tt was resolved that the collector take immediate proceedings to. -recover all outstanding rates.
