Waiwera.
A well attended meeting of landowners in the Waiwera- educational* district was held in the schoolroom on Monday night, when the foil owing*" piitlehTen "were duly elected a: School Committee for ,1877 : —
Messrs D. M'Kenzie, W. Brooks, G. Brown, ,W. Blaikie, W. Littlejohn, J. Wylie, D. Sutherland, and D.' Wallace. At a meeting' of the Committee held after the election, W. Littlejohn was appointed secretary and treasurer. It was deter--mined to procure a number, of books for prizes at the examination of the school, to be held before. the harvest, and it was i also resolved^o have the ainnual soiree, if possible, on the same day as the examination*
