Mr HENsresr Dkivek (on hehalf of the N, Z. L. and. M. A. ®o.) reports for the week ending May 31, 1876:— Fat Cattle.— lßo head we're yarded to-day, and prices realised were somewhat ...better than last Week's. Best pens of bullocks brought from £11 to £'4 10s ; cows, £7 to £11— or about 35s to 37s 6d per lOOlbs, prime quality. We sold 40 at yards,, and placed 100 privately. Fa* Calves. — 20 penned, and sold at good prices, hest vealers bririging'ujEtto; 70s. . Eat Sheep;— 2ooo penned, about one-half good cross-breds. These, all sold at a shade below last week's prices, merinos being dull of sale. Crossbreds sold at lis 6d to IBs ; merinos, 7s to 9s 6d, or 3d per lb for former, and 2£d for latter. Store Cattle.— All. kinds of stores are in demand. Stobe Sheep.— Nothing of importance has been transacted in this description of stock. Wool. — Catalogues of wool sales are to hand per 'Frisco mail up to the sth April, which so far give a better average of prices than cablegrams had led us to expect in merino wools. Cross-breds, especially long, coarse descriptions,' show a muoh greater fall. By the Suez mail near to hand, our files will b?«B?e;oDmplete, which will, no doubt, enable us to'h&ve'a better idea bf the true position of the wool market. SHEEPSKINS, Hides and Tallow sales have been postponed this week, on account of the departure of the San Francisco mail, until the usual hour on Wednesday next, when we shall have a large

catalogue to offer to a better market, we expect, than we have had for some weeks past. Grain.— Wheat is in steady request ; good milling samples are ready sale a^full rates, 4s 6d to 4s 8d ; inferior, 4s to 4s 4d! Oats, good bright feed samples, are still wanted for sbij-ping, 1* lOd to ls lid ; milling, 2s. Barley is dull sale, unless very choice samples, which are saleable at 4s 6d to 4s 9d ; medium, 4s to 43 3d ; milling, 2s 6d to 3s.
