AUCTION REPORT.
Messes Wright, Stephenson and Co. report as follows : — Fat Cattle.— 32s head -were yarded, and disposed of at prices equal to last week's rates. We sold 43 head at from £ll'to £14 for bullocks, and £8 15s to £11 10s for cows, or equal to 35s per 100 lbs for good quality, and 80s for medium ditto. Fat Calves. -15 head yarded, which sold at from 25s to GOs each. Fat Sheep.— Abrut 1850 were penned, consisting of fair to good quality. We sold 650 merinos at 7s 6d to 10s ; 100 ditto at 5s 3d ; 350 j «ross-breds at 13s to 16s. We quote prime mutI ton at 2f d per lb. Privately we sold 1000 halfbreds at quotations. Fat Lambs.— The large number of 400 which was penned caused a slight reduction in price. We sold 206 at from 8s to lis 3d. Stoke Cattle. — We have no transactions to report. Store Sheep. — We have inquiries for both young merinos and young half-breds. We quote cross-breds, 4 and 6-tooth, 9s ; do 2-tooth, 8s ; do lambs, 7s te 7s 6d j merino wethers, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, 5s 6d; do full-mouthed, 3s • merino ewes, 2, 4, and 6;tooth, 5s 6d to 6s ; do fullmouthed, 3s. At foregoing rates we have sold 4000 full-mouthed merino ewes, and 1700 4 and 6-toothed cross-breds. Horses. — Heavy draughts are somewhat dull of sale, but strongcoaching horses are in demand. At our yards on Saturday we sold a draft of Pio-vincial-bred colts, strong coachers, at from £18 to £23. We quote first-class draughts, £60 to £70 • medium do, £45 to £55 ; light do, £27 to £35 , good hacks aud light harness horses, £25 to £30 ; medium do, £14 to £20 j light and inferior, £5 to £10. Wool.— At our fourth sale for the season, held on Thursday, we catalogued 1000 bales of greasy and washed "wools. There was a full attendance of buyers, and good competition for every lot, with the exception -of two large clips of merino, which had to be passed in, the bidding not reaching the owners' reserves, but for which we are now treating privately. 'Prices obtained may be considered satisfactory. Greasy merino brought from 9d to 11 M ; do half-bred, 9d to llgd • washed fleece, 13*|d to 17d per lb. Sheepskins. — This week we cataloged only a small quantity which sold at an advance on last week's prices. Butchers' green skins, half-breds, brought up to . 5s IOd ; merinos, 5s to 5s 6d ; station skins, 3s 6d to 5s 9d, according to quality-
